Broome North Primary School

Broome North Primary School is a new build two-stream State Primary School with a dental therapy unit that opened in 2015. The school was based on the WA Department of Education standard pattern primary school. After review of the standard pattern school design and details, Engawa were given approval to modify some design elements, material selections and detailing to better suit local conditions. The revised elements allowed all non-conditioned spaces to be orientated to capture local breeze and limit solar exposure. Materials and construction detailing were also revised to better suit local conditions including termite protection, corrosion protection, condensation control and thermal performance.
